Formulas: total gain = final value − amount invested. ROI = gain ÷ amount invested × 100. CAGR = (final value ÷ amount invested)^(1 ÷ years) − 1. ROI shows the whole return over the period, while CAGR spreads it into an even yearly rate, so a 50% ROI over 3 years is about 14.47% a year. Add any dividends, interest or other income you received to the final value, and include fees and costs in the amount invested.

This assumes one amount invested at the start and one value at the end. It doesn't account for money added or taken out along the way, inflation or tax, and real returns rarely grow evenly year to year. Past returns don't predict future ones. It is an estimate for information only, not financial, investment or tax advice.
