Best new AI coding agent, web UI and research resources: 11 October

A roundup of yesterday's directory additions: tools for running and coordinating AI coding agents, agent memory and versioned data, small web interface libraries, research references, and self-hosted team, content and voice AI tools.

The directory additions from 11 October lean heavily towards developers who work with AI coding agents, with a set of small libraries for web interfaces and a few research references alongside. Features and pricing change, so check each tool's own page before you commit.

Running AI coding agents

ReevesAgents is a free, open-source local workspace that runs Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, Aider and other agent command-line tools side by side in tmux, controlled from a CLI, a terminal UI or a web UI. An optional MCP server lets one agent start, read, steer and stop the others. It runs on macOS and Linux, needs tmux and Node.js, and you still need your own account for each agent.

Ordewell is an open-source command-line tool that takes one goal, breaks it into an ordered plan of tasks, each with its own runner, model and mode, then runs the tasks and checks the results. Agent Room takes a different angle: it connects Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Gemini and others in a shared room so they can collaborate in real time over MCP, and it can be self-hosted. Both are young projects, so expect them to change.

Remarc is a free Mac menu bar app for giving feedback to a coding agent. You comment on selected text, annotated screenshots, web elements (with a companion Chrome extension) or by voice, and agents read the comments with their context over MCP and work through them. Adrafinil is a small Mac app that keeps your Mac awake only while agents such as Claude Code are running, then lets it sleep again. Both are open source under the MIT licence and Mac only.

Memory, data and tool access for agents

knowledge-base-server gives AI agents a shared, persistent memory built from your Obsidian vault, code, documents and web clippings, served through an MCP server and REST API with SQLite full-text search. It is free and MIT licensed but needs technical setup and a running server.

Dolt is a MySQL-compatible SQL database with Git-style version control, so you can branch, commit, diff and merge data and schema, and it is also used as versioned memory for AI agents. It is open source under Apache 2.0, and DoltHub offers hosting with free and paid options. There is a learning curve if you are new to Git or SQL.

Web interface building blocks

Four small, MIT-licensed libraries cover interface polish. Cuelume adds interaction sounds such as clicks, success and error cues, synthesised live with the Web Audio API so there are no audio files. Blendy smoothly morphs one element into another, such as a button into a modal, and works with any framework. Monoco adds squircle corners to HTML elements by generating SVG, with versions for plain JavaScript, React and Svelte. SSGOI brings app-like page transitions to React, Svelte, Vue, Solid, Angular and Qwik using the Web Animations API with spring physics. Each adds some weight, so use them where the effect genuinely helps.

designmd.supply turns any public website into a DESIGN.md style guide in Google's format that you can hand to an AI coding or design agent. Generated guides still need checking, and copying another brand's look too closely can raise trademark issues.

Research references

Awesome Jev Knowledge Map is a community-maintained, source-backed guide to Jev, TypeSafe AI's System One decision model, in Chinese and English, and it marks which claims are official and which are unverified. Awesome Medical Imaging Agents is a curated GitHub list of agents, benchmarks, datasets and papers for medical imaging; it is a research reference only and not a source of medical advice. Misaka Agent is an open-source multi-agent research system for the humanities and social sciences, and its output should be checked against sources.

Teams, content and voice

Quest AI Workbench, from Electric Capital, is a self-hosted, ChatGPT-style web app that connects services such as Gmail, Google Drive, Slack, GitHub and Airtable and puts AI agents to work on them, designed to be safe by default with sensitive data. It is free and open source, but you host it yourself and pay for your own AI model usage, so review what you connect.

Social Media Skills is a free, MIT-licensed set of 17 skills for Claude and Codex by Charlie Hills. A voice-builder skill captures how you write, and the others use it for LinkedIn writing, research, analytics, Reel scripts and image prompts. It is focused mainly on LinkedIn.

VoiceBlender is an open-source voice AI platform for phone and web calls, with SIP and WebRTC call control, recording, text-to-speech, speech-to-text and plug-in voice agents from providers such as ElevenLabs and Deepgram, all controlled through a REST API. You run it yourself and need your own telephony and AI provider accounts, so it suits developers rather than people looking for a ready-made assistant.

These are only some of the tools added recently. Browse the full directory to filter by category, type, pricing and goal and find the right fit for your work.
