The guide

Every section is a compact, self-contained card.

01

Why Claude Code for marketing?

Claude Code is Anthropic’s agentic tool that works directly with files, data, and code. Marketing is full of files and data: briefs, copy, pages, spreadsheets, and reports.

Unlike a normal chat, it can:

  • Work across your whole marketing folder
  • Build and edit landing pages
  • Analyze CSV exports and create charts
  • Research competitors with sources
  • Write whole campaigns, not single posts
  • Connect to tools through plugins and MCP
  • Run scheduled tasks with routines

Claude Code is not just a writer. It is a marketer who can also build and analyze.

02

Set up a marketing workspace

Install Claude Code with curl -fsSL https://claude.ai/install.sh | bash, or use the Code tab in the Claude desktop app. It is included in all paid Claude plans.

Folder structure

  • brand: positioning, voice, audience
  • research: customers and competitors
  • campaigns: one folder per campaign
  • pages: landing pages
  • data: exports and reports
03

Write a marketing CLAUDE.md

  • Product and offer
  • Ideal customer and their problems
  • Positioning and key messages
  • Brand voice and banned phrases
  • Proof points you are allowed to use
  • Legal and compliance rules
  • Actions that need approval

Claude Code should never invent a claim, a testimonial, or a number.

04

Research customers and competitors

  • Summarize customer interviews and reviews
  • Map competitor positioning and pricing
  • Find the words customers use
  • Identify gaps in the market
  • Save findings with sources

Research our top five competitors. For each, summarize positioning, pricing, key claims, and weaknesses from public reviews, with links. Save to research/competitors.md.

05

Build landing pages

Claude Code can build a complete page in code:

  • Headline, offer, and proof
  • Mobile-friendly layout
  • Fast loading
  • Forms connected to your tools
  • Variants for testing

The frontend-design plugin helps produce more distinctive layouts. Preview every page on a phone before launch.

06

Write full campaigns

From one brief, ask for:

  • Campaign concept and key message
  • Landing page copy
  • Email sequence
  • Social posts for each platform
  • Ad copy variants
  • A launch checklist

Save each asset in the campaign folder for review.

07

Write email sequences

  • Welcome sequence
  • Nurture sequence
  • Launch sequence
  • Win-back sequence
  • Subject line variants

Follow email laws in your markets and send only to people who opted in.

08

Analyze marketing data

Export data from your tools as CSV and ask Claude Code to:

  • Clean and combine the data
  • Calculate conversion rates and costs
  • Chart trends
  • Compare channels and campaigns
  • Explain what changed and why it might have

Check the calculations on important decisions. Ask Claude Code to show its working.

09

Improve SEO

  • Audit pages for titles, descriptions, and headings
  • Find broken links
  • Add structured data
  • Improve page speed
  • Plan content around real search questions

Write for people first. Search engines reward pages that genuinely help.

10

Connect your marketing tools

Plugins in Claude Code’s official marketplace include:

  • HubSpot for sales workflows
  • ActiveCampaign for email and marketing automation
  • Canva for designs
  • Notion for plans and calendars
  • Windsor.ai for marketing and ad data from many sources
  • PostHog and Amplitude for product analytics

Install with /plugin. Review what each plugin can access before connecting accounts.

11

Automate with routines

  • A weekly performance report
  • A daily competitor news check
  • A monthly SEO audit
  • A content calendar update

Routines run in the cloud on a schedule. Keep anything public or paid as a human step.

12

Package workflows as skills

  • Campaign from brief
  • Landing page in brand style
  • Weekly marketing report
  • Competitor snapshot
  • Brand voice check
13

Keep approvals in place

  • Review every public claim
  • Approve ad spend yourself
  • Approve emails before sending
  • Check legal and platform rules
  • Never give Claude Code payment credentials
14

Master marketing prompt

Read CLAUDE.md first. Campaign goal: [goal]. Audience: [audience]. Offer: [offer]. Budget: [budget]. Deadline: [date]. Research the audience and competitors with sources. Propose a campaign concept and key message, and wait for my approval. Then create the landing page, a five-email sequence, social posts, and ad variants in campaigns/[name]. Use only approved proof points. Never publish, send, or spend money.

The real opportunity

Do not ask Claude Code for “marketing ideas.” Give it your customer, your offer, and your data, and build the campaign together.

  • Brand
  • Research
  • Pages
  • Campaigns
  • Email
  • Data
  • SEO
  • Approve

Start with one campaign folder and one landing page. Measure it, then turn the process into a skill.
