The guide

Every section is a compact, self-contained card.

01

Why Claude Code for content?

Claude Code is Anthropic’s agentic tool that works with the files on your computer. Most people use it for software, but a content library is also just files: notes, drafts, images, and scripts.

Unlike a normal chat, Claude Code can:

  • Read your whole content library
  • Follow your voice rules every session
  • Create and organize many files at once
  • Research the web with sources
  • Turn content into images, slides, and videos with code
  • Repurpose one piece into many formats
  • Run repeatable content workflows as skills

A chat helps with one post. Claude Code helps with a whole content system.

02

Set it up

Claude Code is included in all paid Claude plans, from Pro at $20 a month. Install it on macOS or Linux with:

curl -fsSL https://claude.ai/install.sh | bash

Prefer not to use the terminal? Use the Code tab in the Claude desktop app.

03

Create a content folder

Example structure

  • brand: voice guide, audience, examples
  • research: sources and notes
  • ideas: backlog
  • drafts: work in progress
  • published: final versions
  • assets: images, logos, and audio
  • templates: formats you reuse

Use Git so every change can be undone.

04

Write CLAUDE.md with your voice

Run /init, then describe:

  • Who your audience is
  • Your tone and words you use
  • Words and phrases you never use
  • Formatting rules for each platform
  • Three examples of your best content
  • Fact-checking rules
  • Where files go

The better your CLAUDE.md, the more every draft sounds like you.

05

Research with sources

Research [topic] for an article for [audience]. Use current, reputable sources. Save notes to research/[topic].md with a link for every claim, and mark anything uncertain.

Open and check the key sources yourself before you publish.

06

Draft long-form content

  • Articles and blog posts
  • Newsletters
  • Guides and ebooks
  • Case studies
  • Video and podcast scripts

Ask for an outline first. Approve it, then ask for the draft. Edit with your own stories and opinions.

07

Repurpose one piece into many

From one article, ask Claude Code to create:

  • A LinkedIn post
  • A short X thread
  • An Instagram carousel script
  • A newsletter section
  • A short video script
  • Three quote graphics
  • An email to your list

Ask it to save each format as its own file in drafts.

08

Create visuals with code

  • Carousels and infographics as HTML, exported to PNG
  • Slides from your outline
  • Charts from your data
  • Thumbnails and social cards in your brand colors

Plugins such as Canva and Adobe for Creativity can connect Claude Code to those design tools.

09

Make videos with code

Code-based video tools such as HyperFrames and Remotion turn scripts into motion graphics, captions, and explainers that Claude Code can write and edit.

Review every frame for accuracy, spelling, and rights to any images or music.

10

Turn repeat work into skills

A skill is a folder with a SKILL.md file that packages a workflow. Good content skills:

  • Newsletter from this week’s notes
  • Repurpose an article into five formats
  • Brand voice check
  • Fact-check a draft
  • Create a carousel in house style

Ask Claude Code to help you write the skill, then improve it after each use.

11

Connect your tools

  • Notion for your content calendar
  • Google Drive or Dropbox for assets
  • Canva for designs
  • Your CMS through an MCP server or plugin

Connect only what the workflow needs.

12

Automate with routines

Claude Code routines can run scheduled work in the cloud, even when your computer is off:

  • Monday: collect trending topics in your niche
  • Wednesday: draft the newsletter from notes
  • Friday: summarize what performed best

Keep publishing as a human step.

13

Review before publishing

  • Check every fact and number
  • Read it out loud
  • Add your own experience
  • Check images and music rights
  • Follow platform rules for AI disclosure
  • Remove anything you would not say yourself
14

A weekly content workflow

Monday
Research and choose topics
Tuesday
Outline and draft the main piece
Wednesday
Edit and create visuals
Thursday
Repurpose into short formats
Friday
Review performance and update ideas
15

Master content prompt

Read CLAUDE.md and follow my voice rules exactly. Topic: [topic]. Audience: [audience]. Goal: [goal]. Research current sources and save notes with links. Then propose an outline and wait for my approval. After approval, write the main piece, then repurpose it into a LinkedIn post, an X thread, a newsletter section, and a short video script. Save each in drafts. List every factual claim with its source so I can check it. Never publish anything.

The golden rule

Do not use Claude Code to publish more content. Use it to publish your best ideas in more places, in your own voice.

  • Folder
  • CLAUDE.md
  • Research
  • Draft
  • Repurpose
  • Visuals
  • Skills
  • Review

Start with one article this week and repurpose it into five formats. Then turn that process into a skill.
