The directory additions from 10 October are mostly small Mac utilities that save a few clicks many times a day, plus one AI tool that keeps a searchable memory of your computer. Features and pricing change, so check each tool's own page before you commit.
Desktop and app launching
CoolDock adds a customisable second Dock beside the standard macOS Dock, with live widgets for music, reminders and to-dos, calendar events, weather, system stats, search, clipboard and screenshots, plus favourite apps, folders and quick actions. It works locally and needs macOS Sonoma 14 or later. It is a one-time purchase (a one-year or lifetime licence) with a 14-day money-back guarantee, and there is no free version.
Pieoneer puts your apps in a radial pie menu that opens with a shortcut. It has a Launcher for apps, folders and files, a Switcher for running apps, a Controller that triggers other apps' keyboard shortcuts for you, and a Music Remote for Apple Music and Spotify. It is a paid Mac App Store app with no free tier, and keyboard-first users already happy with Spotlight or Raycast may not need it.
Files and clipboard
Dropover gives your Mac a temporary shelf: shake the pointer while dragging, drop files, links, text or images onto it, then move or share everything at once. It can resize images, extract text, create ZIP files, run custom actions and upload to several cloud services for a quick share link. It is free on the Mac App Store with a 14-day trial of everything; afterwards there is a short wait before each use, which a one-time Pro upgrade removes.
Supaste keeps a visual history of everything you copy and every screenshot, grouped by type, app and your own categories. You can search it, including text inside images, paste from a notch shelf or quick search, sync through iCloud and hide sensitive items. It runs offline, needs macOS Sonoma 14 or later, and is a one-time purchase with a 14-day money-back guarantee. A free clipboard manager may be enough if you only need basic history.
Presenting
Presentify lets you annotate anything on your Mac screen with pens, highlighters, text and shapes, open a whiteboard, ring your cursor, and spotlight or zoom into parts of the screen. It works over any app, which suits live demos, online meetings, tutorials and screen recordings. It is a paid Mac App Store app with no App Store trial, and it is also included with a Setapp subscription.
AI memory
screenpipe records your screen, audio and app activity on your own computer so you can search anything you have seen or heard. AI tools such as Claude and ChatGPT can use that history through its MCP server, REST API or local database. Raw history stays on your device by default and the source code is on GitHub. The free plan runs on one device, and full history needs a paid plan. It uses a lot of storage, about 30 GB a month by default, and continuous screen and audio capture is not for everyone, so check what it records before you leave it running.
These are only some of the tools added recently. Browse the full directory to filter by category, type, pricing and goal and find the right fit for your work.
