What is StayFocusd?
StayFocusd restricts how long you can spend on time-wasting websites. You can block sites outright or give them a daily time limit, check a dashboard that shows where your browsing time goes, and switch on the Nuclear Option, a stricter mode that blocks all distracting sites, either by hand or on a schedule. It can also hide parts of social sites like YouTube, Instagram and TikTok, such as recommended videos, reels and comments. The site says it is always free.
Pros: what StayFocusd does well
- Free with daily time limits per site
- Nuclear Option can be scheduled for work hours
- Hides reels, shorts and recommendations inside social sites
Cons: where it falls short
- Works in the browser only
- Easy to switch off if you lack discipline
Who StayFocusd is for
People who lose hours to a few websites while working or studying.
Who can skip it
Those whose main distractions are phone apps.
