Text, data, transitions, and texture effects you can build with Claude Motion or Claude Code, with prompts
Short answer
A free guide to 20 video effects you can create with Claude in October 2026: how Claude makes video with Claude Motion and Claude Code, text effects, data effects, camera and transition effects, texture and retro effects, graphics and overlays, prompts, exporting, and tips for clean motion.
In beta on Team and Enterprise plans since October 8, 2026. Turns text, charts, and images into animated explainers and exports MP4
Claude Code
Writes animation code with tools such as HyperFrames, Remotion, and GSAP, then renders it to video
Both build effects from code, so every word, number, color, and timing stays editable. Neither generates AI footage of people.
Describe the effect, its timing, and its style, then refine one detail at a time.
02
Text effects
1 · Kinetic typography: words that move with the voiceover
2 · Typewriter text that types on letter by letter
3 · Word-by-word captions with the current word highlighted
4 · Text mask reveal: words wiped in behind a moving shape
5 · Split-letter stagger: each letter rises in turn
Make a 5-second title where “Launch Day” types on letter by letter, then the whole line scales up slightly and holds.
03
Data effects
6 · Number count-up to a final value
7 · Animated bar chart where bars grow one by one
8 · Line chart that draws itself from left to right
9 · Progress ring that fills to a percentage
10 · Map route that draws a path between two cities
Give Claude your real numbers and check every frame against the source.
04
Camera and transition effects
11 · Slow zoom on a still image, also called the Ken Burns effect
12 · Whip pan transition between scenes
13 · Zoom-through transition into the next scene
14 · Split-screen comparison that slides apart
15 · Picture-in-picture with a smooth resize
05
Texture and retro effects
16 · Film grain for a cinematic feel
17 · CRT scanlines for a retro screen look
18 · Glitch effect with short color-channel shifts
Use texture effects lightly. A little goes a long way.
06
Graphics and overlays
19 · Lower third with a name and title
20 · Confetti burst for a celebration moment
07
How to ask for an effect
Name the effect
Say where it happens and for how long
Give colors, fonts, and size
Describe the easing: smooth, snappy, or bouncy
Say what happens before and after
Add a lower third at 0:03 for 4 seconds: “Maya Chen, Head of Design” in white on a solid navy bar, sliding in from the left with a smooth ease-out and fading out.
08
Export and use
Export to MP4 from Claude Motion, or render with your code tool
Pick 9:16 for social, 16:9 for YouTube and slides
Add music and voice in your editor if needed
09
Keep it clean
One main effect per scene
Keep text on screen long enough to read
Use the same easing and colors throughout
Avoid fast flashing, which can harm some viewers
Respect reduced motion where the video plays on websites
The golden rule
Do not stack effects for the sake of it. Pick the one effect that makes your message clearer, and polish its timing.
