Best new Obsidian plugin, design inspiration and AI agent resources: 6 October

A roundup of yesterday's directory additions: Obsidian plugins, design and product inspiration galleries, interface components, and tools for coding agents.

The directory additions from 6 October include a full set of popular Obsidian plugins, a group of design and product inspiration galleries, new interface components for React, and several tools for coding agents. There are also a learning collection and a security platform. Features and pricing change, so check each tool's own page before you commit.

Obsidian plugins

Dataview turns an Obsidian vault into a database you can query, building live tables, lists and task views from your notes' fields, tags and dates, with its own query language or JavaScript. Templater creates templates that run variables and functions, so new notes fill themselves in with dates, file names and prompts; review any scripts from others before running them. Tasks for Obsidian tracks tasks across the whole vault with due dates, recurrence and priorities, and Kanban for Obsidian adds Markdown-backed boards where every card stays a plain-text note.

Excalidraw for Obsidian brings a hand-drawn whiteboard into the vault for diagrams and mind maps that link to your notes; large drawings can slow down mobile. Smart Connections surfaces related notes as you write using a local embedding model with no API key, and Copilot for Obsidian lets you chat with your notes and run coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex and OpenCode inside Obsidian. Both are listed as freemium, so some features may need a paid plan.

Design and product inspiration

GoodCart is a gallery of more than 1,100 full-page screenshots from about 400 hand-picked ecommerce websites, filterable by page type, industry and style. Shoot.Design collects App Store screenshots and app icons, and Pushkeen.AI gathers real push notifications from iOS apps, focused on growth and re-activating users. abtest.design groups A/B test results from leading apps into areas such as paywalls, onboarding, checkout and retention. Morphin Inspirations collects interfaces, interactions and animations from live products; it is listed as freemium.

Interface components

Tween UI offers 20 animated components and 25 blocks for React 19 and Tailwind v4, built with GSAP, which you copy and own. AnimateIcons provides more than 1,170 free animated SVG icons for React, added through the shadcn CLI or npm. SHIUI is a flat ink UI kit inspired by Hinomaru Japanese posters, with 111 elements, 24 blocks and design tokens; it is a strong style that will not suit every brand, so check its licence terms before commercial use. page-mascot is an agent skill that adds a cursor-following character to the top of a page, with 53 ready-made characters in six styles.

Coding agents and agent memory

Foremerge is an open-source coordination protocol above Git that lets several coding agents share their intent and spot conflicts before merge; it is pre-1.0 and works on one machine only for now. CRG builds a knowledge graph of a codebase so AI code reviews use fewer tokens, and Meta Skill manages agent skills locally with semantic search and MCP integration. Ponytail is a skill that pushes coding agents to write less code, while React Frontend Skills covers React 19, Next.js 16, TypeScript and frontend architecture for agents such as Codex, Claude Code and Cursor.

NodeDB is a memory and storage engine for AI agents that runs on device or in the browser, works offline and syncs when connected. It is a young project with a non-standard licence, so weigh that carefully before relying on it for something as critical as a database.

Learning and security

AI Engineer Headquarters is a learning collection of methods, processes, algorithms and systems for building models and AI products, with notebooks and a structured path. Awesome Opus 5.5 Videos collects viral videos made with Claude Opus 5.5 alongside the prompts behind them. OpenASM is an open-source, AI-powered platform for attack surface management that helps security teams discover and monitor internet-facing assets; only scan assets you own or are authorised to test.

These are only some of the tools added recently. Browse the full directory to filter by category, type, pricing and goal and find the right fit for your work.
