What is nomacs?
nomacs is a free and open-source (GPL v3) image viewer that opens common formats including RAW and PSD, with cropping, resizing, rotating and colour adjustments. It can synchronise several viewers so panning and zooming apply to all of them, which makes comparing images easy. It runs on Windows, macOS and Linux; the latest release is 3.22.4 (October 2026).
Pros
- Free and open source (GPL v3)
- Opens RAW and PSD files
- Synchronised viewers for comparing images
