What is Evernote?
Evernote captures notes, documents, photos and clipped web pages into one searchable archive, including text inside images and PDFs. It is less fashionable than newer note apps, but for people who mainly need to find something they saved years ago it still does that job well.
Pros
- Excellent search, including inside images and PDFs
- Mature web clipper
- Works offline on paid plans
Cons
- Free plan is tightly limited
- Pricing is high next to newer rivals
Who should use Evernote
People who want a durable searchable archive more than a writing tool.
Who may not need it
Anyone who prefers plain-text, local-first notes.
