01

What is Grok Bot?

Grok Bot is xAI’s app for AI teammates. It opened in beta on August 11, 2026, and keeps adding features. Each bot has a name, a job, and memory, and does real work on a cloud computer.

Grok chats with you. Grok Bot works for you.

02

Teammates and workspace

1 · Named bots with a job

Give each bot a name and a focused job description, such as Researcher or Operator.

2 · Memory

Bots remember what they learn and get better at their role over time.

3 · A cloud computer

Bots work on a cloud computer with a browser, files, and a terminal.

4 · Works while you are away

Tasks keep running when your laptop is closed.

5 · Desktop and mobile apps

Use it on macOS, Windows, Linux, iPhone, iPad, and Android.

03

Tools and access

6 · Plugins and connectors

Connect apps such as Notion, GitHub, and Salesforce so bots can work inside them.

7 · Screen use

When no connector exists, a bot can use a website like a person.

8 · Credentials for APIs

Team Bots can get secure access to third-party APIs that have no plugin.

9 · Reconnect cards

When a service such as X or Vercel asks you to sign in again, the bot shows a reconnect card instead of failing quietly.

10 · Gmail send-as addresses

Email drafts can go out from a verified Gmail send-as address, with a From picker when you have more than one.

04

Repeatable work

11 · Skills by showing

Do a browser workflow once while the bot watches, and it can save it as a skill.

12 · Routines

Turn a skill into a routine that runs on a schedule, such as every Monday at 9:00.

13 · Group chats

Several bots can share context in one chat and hand work to each other.

14 · Slide decks

Added on October 7, 2026: bots can create slide decks.

05

Safety and control

15 · Approvals

Bots send drafts and voice memos for approval and ask before consequential actions.

16 · Auto-review

A separate check on risky actions, such as shell commands, plugin calls, and computer use. Add your own rules in Settings.

17 · Secure Forms

Sensitive details, including card fields at checkout, go into a Secure Form that fills the page, instead of being typed into chat.

06

Teams and reach

18 · Team Bots

In public beta since September 28, 2026, on Teams and Enterprise plans: shared bots with shared skills, files, and memory, while each person’s chats stay private.

19 · Bots in Slack

Each Team Bot gets its own Slack handle and can be invited to channels. Pre-built Team Bots exist for sales, product, marketing, and data.

20 · More languages

Since October 5, 2026, settings include Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Swahili, and Hausa.

07

Who can use it

Grok Bot is available to SuperGrok subscribers, Cursor paid plans, and teams, with a usage allowance that resets weekly. Check xAI’s site for current plans and limits.

08

How to use the features well

  • Start with one bot and one job
  • Connect only the tools a task needs
  • Turn a task into a skill only after it works by hand
  • Watch the first few runs of any routine
  • Keep approvals on for sending, spending, deleting, and publishing
  • Add bots only when a real job needs one
09

Keep your accounts safe

  • All bots on your account share one cloud computer, so separate bots are not separate security boundaries
  • Type passwords and two-factor codes yourself, never in chat
  • Remove plugins and routines you no longer use
  • Keep sensitive files out of the shared workspace
10

Prompts to try

  • “Watch me do this once, then save it as a skill.”
  • “Every Friday at 4:00, draft the weekly update and send it to me for approval.”
  • “Turn this research into a ten-slide deck.”
  • “Tell me what access you need before you start.”
  • “Show me every action you plan to take before taking it.”

The golden rule

Do not try all 20 features at once. Pick the three that save you the most time, and keep approvals on.

  • Bots
  • Memory
  • Connectors
  • Skills
  • Routines
  • Approvals
  • Team Bots

This week, create one bot, teach it one skill, and turn it into one routine.
