What is Slidev?

Slidev is a free, open-source presentation tool that turns a Markdown file into polished slides. Add code with highlighting, diagrams, layouts and presenter notes, then present in the browser or export to PDF and PowerPoint, so building a deck feels like writing a note instead of fighting a slide editor.

Third-party open-source projects. We are not affiliated with their authors; repositories are provided as-is by their maintainers. Review each project's license, code and security before installing. See our Disclaimer.

Pros: what Slidev does well

  • Slides are plain Markdown you can version
  • Great code highlighting and themes
  • Free and open source

Cons: where it falls short

  • Needs Node.js to run
  • Best suited to people comfortable with code

Who Slidev is for

Developers and speakers who want to write slides as fast as notes.

Who can skip it

Anyone who prefers a drag-and-drop slide editor.
