The guide

Every section is a compact, self-contained card.

01

The opportunity

Claude Code is Anthropic’s agentic coding tool. It reads your codebase, edits files, runs commands, and connects to your tools through MCP.

It runs in the terminal, VS Code, JetBrains, the Claude desktop app, and the web. It is included in all paid Claude plans, starting with Pro at $20 per month.

Don’t sell “Claude Code.” Sell finished work that saves people time or makes them money.

02

What makes Claude Code useful for business

  • Builds and fixes software across many files
  • Follows project rules in CLAUDE.md
  • Runs repeatable workflows as skills
  • Connects to external tools with MCP
  • Runs hooks before or after its actions
  • Splits work across subagents
  • Runs on a schedule with routines
  • Powers custom agents through the Agent SDK
03

01 · Build websites and web apps

  • Landing pages
  • Business websites
  • Booking and order forms
  • Membership sites
  • Web app MVPs
  • Redesigns and speed fixes

Charge per project, then offer monthly maintenance for updates, fixes, and small changes.

04

02 · Automate business workflows

Find work people repeat every week and automate it:

  • Report generation
  • Data cleanup
  • Syncing data between tools
  • Document processing
  • Lead routing
  • Recurring summaries

Claude Code routines can run scheduled work in the cloud, even when your computer is off.

Automate the boring parts. Keep humans approving the important parts.

05

03 · Build AI agents for clients

The Claude Agent SDK lets you build custom agents with Claude Code’s tools and capabilities.

Examples:

  • Support agents grounded in a help center
  • Research agents for a specific industry
  • Document review assistants
  • Internal operations agents
  • Data analysis assistants

Define clear limits, approval steps, and monitoring before any agent goes live.

06

04 · Build and sell skills

Skills package a repeatable workflow so Claude can run it on request, such as /review-pr or /deploy-staging.

Create skills for:

  • A specific industry’s documents
  • Brand-consistent content production
  • Code review checklists
  • Data reporting workflows
  • Onboarding new team members

Sell skill packs, or include them in client projects as an extra deliverable.

07

05 · Build plugins and MCP servers

Plugins bundle skills, hooks, agents, and MCP servers so teams can install them in one step.

  • Connect Claude to a company’s internal API
  • Build MCP servers for niche software
  • Package team standards as a plugin
  • Offer setup and maintenance

Every popular tool without a good agent integration is a possible product.

08

06 · Offer maintenance retainers

Keep existing software healthy every month:

  • Bug fixes
  • Dependency updates
  • Security patches
  • Small features
  • Test improvements
  • Performance checks

Claude Code’s GitHub Actions integration can help automate code review and issue triage in CI.

09

07 · Sell migrations and refactors

  • Framework and language upgrades
  • Monolith cleanup
  • Database migrations
  • Replacing outdated libraries
  • Adding TypeScript
  • Removing dead code

Opus 5.5 is built for long, complex engineering work. Pair it with strong tests so every change is verifiable.

Write the tests first. Then migrate.

10

08 · Produce videos with code

With frameworks such as Remotion and HyperFrames, Claude Code can write and render videos from a brief.

Offer:

  • Product explainer videos
  • Social media video templates
  • Personalized videos from data
  • Animated data reports
  • Caption and reformatting services

Check each framework’s license for commercial work. Remotion, for example, requires a company license for organizations of four or more people.

11

09 · Build data dashboards and reports

  • Connect to a client’s data sources
  • Clean and combine data
  • Build interactive dashboards
  • Automate weekly reports
  • Explain insights in plain language

Businesses pay for clarity. A good dashboard replaces hours of spreadsheet work.

12

10 · Launch micro-SaaS products

Build focused tools for a niche you understand:

  • Industry-specific calculators
  • Browser extensions
  • Integrations between popular tools
  • Simple workflow apps
  • Free tools that lead to paid products

Building is faster than ever. Distribution, support, and trust still decide success.

13

11 · Set up Claude Code for teams

Companies need help adopting agentic coding safely. Offer:

  • CLAUDE.md and project rules
  • Skills for team workflows
  • Permission settings and hooks
  • MCP connections
  • Code review processes
  • Training workshops

Sell safe adoption and measurable time savings.

14

12 · Teach what you build

  • Tutorials
  • Newsletters
  • YouTube walkthroughs
  • Courses
  • Templates with guides
  • Paid workshops

Only teach workflows you have used on real projects. Real results build trust.

15

How to price your work

Fixed project
Websites, MVPs, migrations, and agent builds with a clear scope.
Retainer
Monthly maintenance, automation upkeep, and improvements.
Productized service
One defined deliverable at one fixed price.
Digital product
Skills, plugins, templates, and courses.
Training
Team setup and workshops.

Price the value of the result, not the speed of the tool.

16

How to deliver quality

  • Agree on scope in writing
  • Keep project rules in CLAUDE.md
  • Use plan mode before large changes
  • Commit before every task
  • Review every diff
  • Run tests and linting on every change
  • Use hooks to enforce checks automatically
  • Document the handover

Claude Code can make mistakes. You are responsible for what you deliver.

17

Protect clients and yourself

  • Check your plan’s data and privacy terms
  • Never put secrets in prompts or CLAUDE.md
  • Use permission settings to limit risky commands
  • Respect software and asset licenses
  • Disclose AI-assisted work where required
  • Use clear contracts for scope and ownership

For client work, a Team or Enterprise plan adds admin and data controls that consumer plans do not.

18

How to start

Step 1: Choose one market
Pick people you understand and can reach.
Step 2: Choose one problem
Recurring, painful, and expensive.
Step 3: Build a solution
Use Claude Code on your own business first.
Step 4: Document the process
Turn it into CLAUDE.md rules and skills.
Step 5: Package it
Clear scope, price, and timeline.
Step 6: Get first clients
Network, content, communities, and direct outreach.
Step 7: Add a retainer
Ongoing maintenance and improvements.
Step 8: Productize
Turn repeated work into products.
19

The Claude Code business formula

  • A real customer problem
  • + A focused offer
  • + Claude Code for faster delivery
  • + Skills for repeatability
  • + Human review and testing
  • + Recurring maintenance

= A service that grows without growing your hours at the same rate

20

Important

Claude Code is not a guaranteed income machine.

Its value comes from combining fast execution with a real customer problem, reliable delivery, distribution, and your judgment.

The real opportunity

Do not ask: “What can I build with Claude Code?” Ask: “What problem do people already pay to solve that I can now solve faster and better?”

  • Market
  • Problem
  • Build
  • Skills
  • Review
  • Deliver
  • Retain

Start with one offer, deliver it well, turn the process into skills, then grow what you sell.
