What makes a good Grok bot
Grok Bot is xAI’s app for AI teammates. Each bot has a name, a job, and memory, and works on a cloud computer that can sign in to your tools and keep working when your laptop is closed.
A good bot has:
- One clear job
- The fewest tools it needs
- A routine or trigger
- A clear output and location
- An approval rule
A narrow bot you trust beats a general bot you have to watch.
02
Before you build
- Grok Bot is included with SuperGrok plans, paid Cursor plans, and team plans
- Usage is a separate weekly allowance
- All your bots share one cloud computer, its files, and browser sessions
- Type passwords and two-factor codes yourself, never in chat
- Set Auto-review to Ask first for sending, paying, posting, and deleting

09
How to build any of these
- Create the bot with its name and job description
- Tell it your preferences and limits in the first conversation
- Connect only the tools it needs
- Do the workflow once while it watches, and save it as a skill
- Turn the skill into a routine on a schedule
- Check the first few runs closely

Combine bots into a team
Several bots can work in a group chat and hand work to each other. For example, the Research Bot finds a signal, the Lead Bot scores it, and the Content Bot drafts the outreach for you to approve.
Add a bot only when a real job needs one. More bots use your weekly allowance faster.

Job description template
Name: [name].
Job: [one job].
Description: You help me with [work] for [business or life area]. Use only [tools]. Each time, [steps]. Put the result in [location] and message me a short summary.
Never [forbidden actions]. Ask before sending, paying, posting, deleting, or sharing data. If something is unclear, stop and ask.
The golden rule
Do not build ten bots at once. Build one, trust it, then build the next.

Start with the Inbox Bot or the Research Bot this week. Both save time from day one with very little risk.
