01

What Claude can design

  • Layouts for social posts, posters, flyers, and slides
  • Logo concepts and simple vector marks as SVG
  • Brand colour palettes and font pairings
  • Infographics and diagrams
  • Website and app mockups

Claude designs with code and layout, not by painting pictures. For photos or illustrations, pair it with an image tool or your own assets.

Brief Claude like you would brief a human designer, and you will get designer-level results.

02

Write a design brief

  • What it is and where it will appear
  • Who it is for and how it should make them feel
  • The exact text that must appear
  • Brand colours, fonts, and logo
  • Two or three examples of styles you like
  • Size and format needed
03

Use Claude Design

Claude Design makes visual designs, decks, and prototypes from a brief. Start there for polished, multi-page work, and iterate by asking for specific changes.

04

Use artifacts for quick graphics

Create a 1080 by 1350 social graphic as an SVG artifact: dark background, one big headline “Stop guessing your prices”, a short subline, our brand colours #0F172A, #22D3EE, and #F97316, and lots of white space.

SVG and HTML artifacts give you sharp graphics you can download, edit, and resize.

05

Logo concepts

Suggest five logo concepts for [brand], a [business] for [audience]. For each, explain the idea, then draw it as a simple SVG that works in one colour and at small sizes.

  • Pick one direction and refine it
  • Test it at favicon size and in black and white
  • Have a professional finalise it if it is your main brand mark
06

Social media graphics

  • Ask for a template you can reuse for every post
  • Create carousels slide by slide
  • Keep text short and readable on a phone
  • Make versions for each platform’s size
07

Posters and flyers

  • Put the most important information biggest
  • Include date, place, and how to act
  • Ask for print-ready sizes and margins
08

Build a simple brand kit

Create a one-page brand kit for [brand]: logo usage, a five-colour palette with hex codes, a heading and body font pairing, button styles, and three do’s and don’ts. Present it as an HTML artifact.

09

Work with Canva

Connect Canva to Claude to create and edit designs in your Canva account, then finish them with Canva’s editor and your brand kit.

10

Give feedback that works

Vague
“Make it pop”
Clear
“Make the headline twice as big, use more contrast, and remove the second image”
11

Check the design basics

  • Clear hierarchy: one thing stands out first
  • Enough contrast to read easily
  • Consistent alignment and spacing
  • No spelling mistakes

The golden rule

Do not ask Claude to “make something nice.” Give it a real design brief, give specific feedback, and check every design for clarity, brand fit, and rights before it goes out.

  • Brief
  • Claude Design
  • Artifacts
  • Logos
  • Social
  • Brand kit
  • Feedback

Write a six-point design brief for your next social post and give it to Claude today.
